1. SCENT & PRODUCT CLAIMS

Each of these products share the same scent. Quite pleasant and spot on with the scents of coconut and shea butter oils that constitutes this entire line.

This product line promises to be:

  • Sulfate free
  • Paraben free
  • Free of dyes
  • Moisture rich
  • Colour safe

Please be advised that Amodimethicone is a Silicone which I spotted in the ingredients list for the Leave-In Conditioner & Curl Defining Cream.

I also noticed another Silicone called Dimethiconol in the ingredients list for the Conditioner of this line.

3. IS IT WORTH IT?

Price Point:

Quality: I believe that each of these products are of good quality. The line bared relatively good results on my hair without being harsh on my curls in the process. However, I was disappointed to find that some of the products in the line contain Silicones.

Life of Product: Although I was heavy handed at times, both the cleansing and styling products, prove that a little goes a long way.

My mother and sister, who have varying densities and curl types, have been using one or more of the products within this line, while I consistently used the entire line each week. To date, I still have about 1/4 bottle of each of the styling products excluding the Curl Defining Cream – which is at 1/2 bottle as I only began using this product 2 weeks after using the rest of the line.

Regarding the Cleansing Shampoo and Moisturising Conditioner, I have about 1/2 bottle of conditioner and 1/4 bottle of the shampoo left.

Final Thoughts: I love that each of these products holds a common thread of curl definition despite the fact that each were meant for a different purpose. I was able to achieve fluffy, soft curls which maintained moisture. However, this moisture retention was only achieved once I had the Curl Defining Cream in my arsenal. This is a clear indicator that it is best to use the full line of products for the best results.

Due to the longevity of the products, it turns out to be quite cost effective in the long run because unlike some products, it does not require monthly replenishment.

On the other hand, I was disappointed to learn that despite the contents of Silicones in some of the products – which claimed to fight frizz – the line failed to tame my frizz issue which one of my must have silicone-free products have been able to do for me.

Rating of Product Line:  7/10

  • Conditioner: 9/10 – added to my list of fave conditioners
  • Detangler: 4/10 – didn’t prove necessary to my hair care regimen
  • Leave-in: 7/10
  • Curl Defining Cream: 9/10
  • Serum Gel: 8/10
